Guidelines
- Don’t put projects in the same folder with backups.
- It's wise to put them in a cloud folder and/or sync to an external drive.
- Any cloud service is fine for zip files.
- Literature & Latte recommends Dropbox over other cloud services.
- Dropbox is the only way to sync from PCs, Macs to iOS Scrivener.
- NO cloud service is 100% free of glitches.
- If you have problems, a recent zip backup is likely to be safer than an uncompressed project, no matter where they're stored.
Example Setup
Below you see where my wife and I keep our projects and backups. Her projects are in the default location for sync to iOS (iPhone and iPad) Scrivener, but mine are in a different folder.
Using different folders keeps us from wasting space on each other's phones, and it keeps our projects separate so we don't get confused.
Confusion is the enemy.
