Two Ways to Determine Formatting Layouts

• [ ] by structure (Scrivener 1 , 2, or 3)
• [ ] by section type name (Scrivener 3)
• [ ] Naming is straightforward, but structure can be complicated.

Structure-Based Formatting

Layouts are determined on two dimensions

1. depth left to right in the Binder and
2. file type

Three file types

1. folder
2. text file with no subdocuments
3. text file with one or more subdocuments

The # of Compile layouts is 3 n
