Keep all books of a series in a single project
Many advantages
- shared Research and images across books
- bookmarking early documents in a later book for easy reference
- consistent styles, compile formats, and template sheets
- consistent values and color-coding for Label, Status, Keyword, and other metadata
- one Aeon Timeline sync for all books
- omnibus or single book compiles from the same project
- project targets can apply to one book OR to the omnibus
- if you want a “landmark” snapshot of the project after finishing a book, you can rename and/or move a Zip backup to an archival folder
The downside is a larger project, but
- text (even a million words) takes relatively little storage
- cloud services sync changes, not everything
- syncing a Zip backup is a total sync, but that's not a problem if Research doesn't get too fat
- storage-intensive Research can go elsewhere — in Evernote or Notion, for instance
